After making fun of foreign companies for not understanding Indian cultural cues, finally, with Tata Motors? Jaguar-Land Rover acquisition (?The logic of all global dreams?, Apr 4), it is time for India?s own global marketing genius to be put to the test. Ingrained truth

It is unfortunate that despite the government?s concern for rising foodgrain prices, there is no serious bid to increase their production levels. MS Swaminathan, father of the Green Revolution in the country, has estimated that there is scope for at least 50% increase in foodgrain yields just by using technology currently available to us. Basic research would testify that poor foodgrain output in India is a public policy failure. The sooner it?s addressed, the better for us all.
