Olacab announced a fare reduction in its mini category, making such cabs available on its platform, the cheapest in Delhi-NCR region.
The prices have been reduced from Rs 14/km to Rs 10/km for Ola Mini. The minimum fare has also been reduced from Rs 150 for 6 kms to Rs 100 for 4 kms.
The company has also increased the number of cabs available to book through its mobile app to as much as 3,200 in Delhi, an addition of over 35% in the last quarter. The increase in the number of cars has reduced the time for customers to get a cab from 25 minutes to as little as 10 minutes and in turn minimised the number of dry/unpaid runs made by drivers.
The company had slashed fares of the Ola Mini offering on it?s application to Rs. 10 per km in Bangalore as well recently, making it cheaper than even autos.
?With higher scale, better technology and analytics capabilities, we have been able to optimise our inventory in a way that allows our driver partners to offer such competitive fares to citizens of the national capital. The time for a cab to reach a customer has also been drastically reduced to less than 10 minutes in most parts of the city.? said Pranay Jivrajka, VP – Operations, Olacabs.

The company had recently introduced a business class cab offering on its mobile app, Ola Prime in 6 cities, including Delhi-NCR at Rs. 20 per km.
The Ola mobile app is the first of its kind that lets users book a cab with one touch. The mobile app, which is available for Android, iOS and Windows shows the available cabs nearby and the ETA of the closest cab. On booking, customers get a confirmation in real-time along with booking details like the driver?s name, number, car make and vehicle number. The app also tracks and shows the movement of the cab to the customer?s pickup location on a map in real time.
