Public sector oil firms Indian Oil Corp, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum on Monday jointly invited proposals for supply of ethanol to their various oil depots in Chhattisgarh.

The manufacturers would have to supply anhydrous ethanol through tank truck on delivered basis to the oil depots in the state for three years, HPCL said, while inviting tenders under two-bid system (technical and price bids).

In addition to the three-year period, the contract for supplying ethanol can be extended for another two years, it added.

The oil firms would need about 36,697 kl of anhydrous ethanol for blending with petroleum products in the next three years in Chhattisgarh, HPCL said.

The manufacturers can submit their proposals for supply of ethanol to HPCL by February 20, the oil company said.
