With gas and oil prices setting new records every day, analysts have begun to wonder what might stop the prices from rising. A lot of reasons have been cited for the spike in prices, like the decline in dollar?s value and the lack of surplus output and refining capacity. Yet, one factor which is not much talked about is the impact of increased defence budgets the world over. Just like consumption, defence budgets have also gone up in countries like the US, China and India. Military consumes gargantuan amounts of oil. And, many cold and hot wars are still being fought in many parts of the world.
