The designated authority has recommended discontinuation of anti-dumping duty on methylene chloride imports from the European Union (EU), South Africa and Singapore.

After conducting a mid-term review on an application by an exporter in the EU, the directorate general of anti-dumping and allied duties noted that domestic industry had not suffered any material injury due to imports from the subject countries.

Domestic industry has not suffered any material injury due to imports from the subject countries. And the discontinuation of anti-dumping duties on the subject goods from the subject countries is not likely to lead to the recurrence of dumping or injury to domestic industry, a recent DGAD notification said.

DGAD had recommended the imposition of anti-dumping duty on the import of methylene chloride in August 2003.
