Nirvana Biosys seeks Haryana nod for wine tourism in state

Wine-making company, Nirvana Biosys, has applied to the Haryana government for licence to operate a wine tourism venture in the state, to tickle the taste buds of the wine lovers of North. The company plans to spend around Rs 1 crore on this vertical. We have applied to the state government for issuing us the licence for wine tasting so that we can promote wine tourism up north. The aim is to attract tourists going to Jaipur from Delhi, Gurgaon and nearby regions. The plan is to develop one acre for this venture, MK Rustagi, joint managing director, Nirvana Biosys, told FE.

Companys winery has been set up over two acre and it began operations in June this year. Having a production capacity of 1 million litre per annum, expandable to 10 million litre per annum, the facility has rolled out about 80,000 litre wine in two batches so far. Nirvana has introduced its wines in Chandigarh market recently. Nirvana is sourcing its grapes and other fruits from intermediaries but has plans to source them from Hisar in Haryana.

Nirvana is also expanding its network to HP, Rajasthan, followed by West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Goa in two months. The company has started exporting to Dubai and negotiations are on with companies in the UK, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.
