NDDB to aid Jharkhand in development of dairy sector

The Jharkhand government has sought the assistance of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) for promotion and development of the dairy industry in Jharkhand. The Jharkhand government wants to entrust the responsibility to develop and support dairy sector in the state, to the NDDB.

Sources added, In a recent visit to the NDDB, Rajbala Verma, secretary, animal husbandry and dairy department,Jharkhand, sought the NDDBs help for the promotion of the dairy sector in Jharkhand. The National Dairy Development Board has also expressed its willingness to take up the job and assist the Jharkhand government. This will involve setting up milk producer institutions and enhancing milk production capacity over a period of five years. The board will also assist in developing efficient milk collection, processing and distribution networks. To achieve this momentous target both the parties have also agreed to sign a MoU.
