In order to improve the financial condition of Jharkhand farmers, the National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (Nabard) has initiated programmes to educate them about cultivation of fruits like 'Noni' and crops that promise to yield more revenue.

On Wednesday, Nabard organised the first of a series of state-level workshops on the latest trends in agriculture and allied activities in Jharkhand with special focus on 'Noni' (mirinda citrifolia) cultivation and introduction of 'tissue culture' technology in various produce like banana, potato, strawberry, etc, which have good prospects in the state.

Nabard chief general manager KC Shashidhar said all stakeholders in Jharkhand need to look beyond the current state of affairs in order to find out ways and means to revamp agriculture if the state has to keep pace with the rest of the country and the world.
