Nabard gives Rs 847.47 cr to RRBs, co-op banks

Nabard has released Rs 560.61 crore and Rs 286.86 crore to cooperative banks and regional rural banks of Haryana and Punjab respectively as against a total claim of Rs1694.94 crore lodged with the bank under Agriculture Debt Waiver & Debt Relief (ADWDR) Scheme 2008.

Haryana SCB has been granted Rs 413.6 crore, Haryana SCARDB Rs 97.48 crore, Haryana Gramin Bank Rs 33.18 crore and Gurgaon Gramin Bank Rs 16.35 crore. Punjab SCB has been given Rs 158.82 crore, Punjab SCARDB Rs 112.77 crore, Punjab Gramin Bank Rs12.51 Qcrore, Malwa Gramin Bank Rs 1.4 crore and Satluj Gramin Bank Rs 1.36 crore.

The state cooperative banks and state cooperative agricutural and rural development banks have been advised to pass on the amount to District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs), Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) and Primary Central Agriculture and Rural Development Banks (PCARDBs) without adjusting any amount at their level. The amount released to banks under ADWDRS will support the bank's liquidity position for further lending for rabi crops.
