Multinational Cos Vouch For Outsourcing: Survey

Multinational companies (MNCs) continue to believe that outsourcing would be the right choice for their growth and survival, according to a survey done by Satyam Computer Services Ltd (SCSL).

The survey revealed that global corporates expect huge savings from outsourcing. The survey, on different aspects of outsourcing, done with the participation of 80 top-notch global majors between May 4 and 6, 2003, found that 25 per cent of them were hopeful of saving at least 40 per cent of their companys IT budget through outsourcing and 80 per cent of the attendants see savings would in the range of 25 to 40 per cent.

Bulk of the speakers, including former US vice-president Al Gore and the founding chief executive officer of Sun Microsystems Vinod Khosla and other global players strongly asserted that outsourcing indeed had a cascading benefit for the global economy and helped all countries.

Mr Gore highlighted the importance of global free trade in outsourcing which he said allowed companies to focus on what they were good at.
