We are looking at products, resource allocation, implementation and product maintenance from here. Over 60 per cent of the work related to next generation closed-loop SCM solutions, supplier relationship management and content solutions of the company is currently done out of the country and it could be scaled up to 70 per cent, he said.
i2 Technologies also has plans to penetrate the steel and metal industry of India.
With most of the core development work of the company done here, Indian customers are also strategically important for the company, he added. In India, i2 has 15 customers including Maruti, Asian Paints, and Indian Oil Corporation.
On the companys growth plans, Mr Sidhu said 2003 would be a year of flat growth for i2, but from 2004 onwards the company expects to witness considerable growth.
The company has implemented major restructuring and cost cutting measures in the past two years including shifting staff from the US to India and cutting down on R&D costs. The Indian workforce of around 1,050 would play a major part in driving the companys growth with increased customer focus, Mr Sidhu said.
