In a bid to raise flagging sales , Maruti Udyog Ltd has rolled out a new-look Maruti 800 with spruced up interiors and upgrades that enable it to meet superior emission norms.

The changes include clear headlamps, a headlight leveling mechanism and a new grill. The new M-800 comes in crystal gold, icy blue and Carribean blue, besides existing shades.

Price of the Bharat II variant has been raised by Rs 3,000. The Bharat III versions will be Rs 8,000 and Rs 9,000 dearer for the standard and A/c models respectively. The Bharat III-compliant models come with 32-bit electronic control unit.

Just when there was talk about Maruti 800 being phased out, this iconic brand has donned a fresh look and again surprised everyone. The new-look Maruti 800 is our gift to the million two-wheeler owners in the country who are looking to upgrade to a car, says managing director Jagdish Khattar.

The M-800 has lost its position as the top entry level model with both the Alto and Hyundais Santro overtaking it in terms of numbers sold.
