Major Changes At Deloitte Top Level

Deloitte Haskins & Sells has reached the culmination of a succession process initiated over six months ago. Co-chairmen NV Iyer and YH Malegam will retire on March 31, 2004. A little later, on April 1, 2004, Dileep Choksi and Udayan Sen will assume office as joint managing partners.

Mr Choksi told FE that, Mr Sen and himself, apart from their existing roles as the joint managing director - Bangalore and national director, respectively, will now also take on the responsibility from the retiring co-chairmen.

Mr Choksi added that in their new roles they have ideas which would be translated into action. The firm plans to ride on the feel-good wave as a service provider. It plans to expand its scope of activities, both domestically and globally.

The firm reports that the appointment follows the endorsement from all the partners spread over 13 offices. Mr Choksi and Mr Sen have been part of a small core group of partners responsible for the firms strategic planning.

Deloitte Haskins & Sells is a member firm of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and is the vehicle through which SB Billimoria & Co, CC Choksi & Co, Fraser & Ross and PC Hansotia & Co have integrated their respective practices.
