Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad has hinted that there is a possibility of meaningful relationship between Andhra Pradesh and Malaysia over various business aspects, which may include software, construction etc.

Speaking to media before concluding the two-day visit to Hyderabad, he said: "We are looking into several things. However, I will not make a specific mention here." He said that the Malaysian companies are already engaged in road laying and airport consortiums in the state.

"My visit to Andhra Pradesh is important as I will get the first-hand information about the happenings in the state," he said.

Dr Mahathir felt that there are hitches which are to be sorted out before bringing investment into the state. However, he refused to comment on the `hitches' but expressed his determination to clear them.

On the IT front, he said that some of the Malaysian companies are showing interest in having association with Indian companies and it would be good to have back-up facilities in both Malaysia and India so that if one fails the other center can be handy.
