SAIL is likely to miss its deadline of achieving saleable steel production of 25 MT by 2010, as the steel giant is facing problems at procuring sophisticated equipments from foreign suppliers. Earlier, the company had revised the deadline from 2012 to 2010 considering the increasing steel demand in the country.

There is a hitch in procuring equipments from foreign players as they have huge orders from other steel companies as well, chairman SAIL S K Roongta said at a press conference on Tuesday.
