According to Mr KR Kim, managing director, LG Electronics India Ltd, the Whisen range comes with air flow design of three dimensional cooling enabling faster and even cooling compared to conventional ACs. The Whisen Wall Hanging AC has been developed after years of R&D, he added. The Whisen Floor Standing AC offers the unique plasma air purifying systemit can uniformly throw cool air up to 23 feet thus cooling large spaces while maintaining its sleekness, he added.
According to Mr Salil Kapoor, product group head, air conditioners division, LG Electronics: As the Indian AC market is maturing, different consumer preferences are emerging for different segments. Whisen, an addition to the companys existing product range of window, split and plasma ACs, is a step towards offering a complete range of ACs to customers, combining product innovation and superior technology. In the Indian marketplace, the Whisen range will be positioned at the top-end.
In India, LG Electronics has achieved sales of 1.5 lakh ACs between January and July 2002, registering a growth of 208 per cent over the corresponding period last year. Currently, with a marketshare of 31 per cent. LG is targeting sales of two lakh units this year, according to Mr Kim.
