YV Verma, who has been at the centre of LG India right from its inception in the country and has played a pivotal role in taking the brand to its current level of fortitude, has been elevated to the position of chief operating officer at LG India.
Verma will now be responsible for the companys operations in India and spearhead sales and marketing functions of LGEIL, the company said in a statement.
While V Ramachandran, who was formerly director (marketing), will now head the strategy division of the company. Amitabh Tiwari, who has been the business head of the companys home entertainment division, has now been elevated to the position of sales head of LG Electronics and his former position will now be taken over by Rohit Pandit who has been elevated as the business head for LG Home Entertainment division.
The company has recently appointed Sudhin Mathur as business head of mobile communication. Prior to this appointment, Mathur was the marketing head of Sony Ericsson.
With these new changes in the top management, we aim to increase our operating efficiency and establish greater autonomy at the operating level and strengthening the independence of LG India as a subsidiary to LG Electronics, Moon B Shin, managing director, LG Electronics India said in a statement, adding that all these changes will come into effect from January 1, 2010.
According to the company, these appointments signify LGs efforts to take their business to the next level by becoming a more achievement-oriented organisation as the company has looked both domestically and internationally to identify leaders that can help it deliver on its global promise while recruiting these new executives.
