While celebrating completion of two years, the UPA-2 government released the 74-page Report to the People. The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh highlighted his governments achievements and listed the pro-people legislations on the anvil. But the ground reality is something different and it makes one wonder that the report is nothing more than self praise. The common man is experiencing skyrocketing prices, especially of essential commodities, is facing rampant corruption and alarming unemployment. Yet there is no dearth of tainted ministers in the government, for which its popularity has been plummeting with each passing day. With the proposed legislations such as Jan Lok Pal, National Food Security, Land Acquisition, etc, the government has promised to deliver moon. But mere promises will not fill up empty stomachs.
