Never before has the Indian banking scenario been as interestingly poised as it is now. Banks now boast of strong fundamentals; yet, in order to take on the challenges in the globalised environment, they need to grow in size and strength. They should match the pace of Indian corporates, who are expanding beyond borders. We need to have at least six to seven banks of the size of SBI or ICICI Bank.
