In a major makeover move, India Post has launched its new logo and promised better and faster services. There are reports that the Post would acquire aircraft to ensure overnight delivery of consignments to major towns. Yet, there are a lot of basic issues ailing the postal service for a long time. The condition of post offices in villages, towns and even cities is pathetic. Most of them do not have telephones and employees work in congested rooms. Even computers in many post offices embody sheer neglect. Therefore, its time for India Post go the whole hog in its image rebuilding bid.
