Lawkim-UpStream Eyes $25 M Revenues

Lawkim UpStream Contact Management Pvt Ltd, a joint venture (JV) company formed by US-based UpStream Inc and Godrej Group company Lawkim India is gunning for revenues in excess of $25 million in the next three years. Speaking with eFE, UpStream Inc vice president for sales and marketing Joe Terrion said,We hope to scale upto about 500 seats (from the current 80 seats) in the next three years. Mr Terrion is in India with a team from UpStream to set up the operations of the JV. The 50:50 JV was formally announced by both partners on Wednesday. The facility will be a captive facility for UpStream whereby Lawkim will exclusively undertake work only for UpStream

UpStream Inc is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rosenbluth International, the $5 billion US-based travel management company.

The joint venture company has a facility at Thane near Mumbai. Lawkim has the responsibility of building and developing the facility while we are responsible for providing the customers, said Mr Terrion but declined to comment on the capital investment being made by both the partners.

The centre will begin with voice-based services using CRM technologies. The clients that the centre will be servicing are travel Website Orbits, National Airlines and eventually United Airways, said Mr Terrion adding that while the first client would be Orbits, the company was still working on migrating some of its major airline clients.
