The airline, first to provide inflight entertainment free of cost on its 180-seater Airbus A320 flights, will offer a better value proposition, Mallya said at the launch on Wednesday.
Without naming other domestic airlines, Mallya said he was ready for a bloodbath on fares as he was offering a far better value proposition than some of the bus service type competition.
He said Kingfisher would target corporates and the upwardly mobile high-spending youngsters as the service would reflect the Kingfisher brand lifestyle imagery and credibility that has been built over the years. Asked if he was planning to go international also, he said there had been some rumblings and placing of restrictions. You cannot be restrictive... It does not exist anywhere. I am willing to fly to US also, he added.
