Karnataka Bank aims to achieve Rs 20,000-crore business mix

The widely-held private sector Karnataka Bank Ltd is looking at a business mix of Rs 20,000 crore next fiscal, while expanding its presence to northern and major metros of the country, by adding 20 new branches.

Speaking to FE here recently, Ananthakrishna, chairman, Karnataka Bank Ltd, said: We are targeting a business mix of Rs 20,000 crore in fiscal 2006 with a deposit base of Rs 12,750 crore and Rs 7,500 crore advances against expected Rs 16,500 crore business mix during the fiscal.

Mr Ananthakrishna, who was here to inaugurate the first ATM said: We propose to add another 20 more branches during next fiscal, taking the total number to 400. Most of the new branches are planned in the north and major metros of India to expand our presence.
