Jeera prices fell by Rs 342 to Rs 14,590 per quintal in futures trade on Thursday on reduced offtake by speculators influenced by a weak export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July fell by Rs 342, or 2.40 per cent, to Rs 14,590 per quintal, with an open interest of 13,491 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in August declined by Rs 350, or 2.39 per cent, to Rs 14,995 per quintal in 18,621 lots.

Market analysts said weak exports demand mainly pulled down jeera futures prices.
