James Murdoch On Governing Board Of ISB

Chairman and CEO of Star Group Ltd James Murdoch after making waves in India in recent weeks with the groups controversial play in the television segment has now made quiet moves to step into the Governing Board of the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.

In an ISB press release welcoming the appointment, Chairman of the ISB Governing Board Rajat Gupta said,James is an astute businessman whose entrepreneurial spirit and expertise has created success for Star in a very tough industry. I am excited that James will now be a part of the Indian School of Business, bringing with him the same spirit in helping us groom a new generation of leaders who can influence management trends and make a difference to the business world globally.

According to ISB Dean Vijay Mahajan, His innovative and keen leadership will prove to be an invaluable support as we move towards realising our vision of being among the best B-schools.

James Murdoch has been chairman and chief executive officer of Star since May 2000. He is also executive vice president of News Corporation and a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

He also serves on the boards of News Corporation subsidiaries British Sky Broadcasting Group (BSkyB) and News Digital Systems (NDS).

ISBs Governing Board, which is chaired by Rajat Gupta, Director of McKinsey & Company, includes several business leaders from the international corporate arena.
