First, the good news: distraught men coming home to a late dinner and a wife glued to Tulsi on the telly can now invoke the goddess of soap to demand hot food.

Now for the bad news: if they want dinner to be a family affair, they better wait for 11pm and the show to end while the food stays hot in casseroles.

Thus spoke Ms Smriti Irani, better known as Tulsi, the bahu and now Tulsi, the saas of the blockbuster soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (KSBKBT). Ms Irani was here on Wednesday as Milton Globals brand ambassador, fielding questions with the aplomb she shows on the small screen in handling errant sons and family politics.

The poser: how does Tulsi the ideal bahu and ideal saas, and at home we have wives glued to the screen watching her and possibly ignoring hubby just back from office. Any dichotomy there

Ms Irani was as diplomatic as Tulsi: An ideal bahu does not try to hide situations... People treat us [the cast of KSBKBT] as family members...

And more on those lines. Then she flashed her dazzling smile and gave the punchline : You can always keep the food hot in Milton casseroles and wait for the show to end!

No bad, from Tulsi the role model who is now modelling for casseroles and other stuff made by Milton Global Ltd.

Ms Irani who is incidentally half Bengali by birth was the showpiece of Miltons first starcast effort here, with Mr MB Vaghani, the managing director, announcing the companys foray into imported glassware and opalware products under the brand Treo.

The glassware range includes drinking glasses, dinner sets, mixing bowls that are microwave-safe and heat resistant. They are being imported from Germany, Mexico and Brazil, among others, and will be retailed via 20,000

outlets selling Miltons thermoware.
