Interra To Invest $10 Million In India

Interra Systems Inc, an US-based software solution provider for chip designing, is planning to invest $10 million over a period of five years in order to expand its operations in India.

We are planning to invest almost the entire amount ($10 million) in the development centres over five years, Interra Systems president and chief executive officer Sunil Jain said on Wednesday at a press briefing in Delhi.

Interra offers products and services to memory and systems on chip (SoC) designers, electronic design automation (EDA) tool companies and in-house EDA tool developers. The company is focused on markets including the US and Europe with majority of its development operations based in India.

The company has a development centre each in Delhi and Kolkata.

The company has a total of 100 developers at both these centres and in future it is expected to add more developers in these centres. Some of its clients include companies like Intel, Cadence, IBM, Actel, Synopsys, etc.

The company was set up in 1995 in the US and it established its subsidiary in India in 2000.
