Management students from all over the country will match their wits and knowledge during Manfest, the annual inter-B school festival of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, (IIM-L) being held between January 25 and 27. Manfest is a symphony of management education and a cultural festival, comprising quizzes, debates, literary events and a music show.

This year, the final round of the all-India paper writing contest Tata- IIML Innovision is also taking place during Manfest on January 26. The contest attempts to foster among students the ability to think critically and to find innovative and creative solutions to problems encountered in the management arena.

Innovision has been attracting entries from the premier management and engineering colleges all over the country. The generic theme for the competition since its inception in 1994 has been Managing in a changing Environment. This years topic is: Managing in a recessionary economy. The event received more than 100 entries and eight teams have been shortlisted for the final presentation round.

Previous themes have included The Old and the New; Avenues for Mutual Learning (2000-01), Business beyond Barriers (1999-2000) and Transition into the New Millennium: Business Policies and Agenda for the Developing Nations (1998-99).

Manfests USP is a series of innovative business games which are designed to exercise the intellect of students from some of the best B-schools in the country.

Two music shows will take place during Manfest: an Indian classical music show organised by the SPIC-MACAY chapter of IIM-L on January 25 and a performance by a professional music group Indian Ocean on January 27.
