America and Britain are the most preferred markets for Indian IT service providers, with about 71% planning to expand their presence in the two countries, a study said.

According to a study by PricewaterhouseCoopers and CII, the US and the UK are still considered attractive markets for expanding into with 71% of service providers who were surveyed, keen to expand in the US and the UK market.

The English speaking demographic was one of the key reasons why it was initially easy for Indian companies to align themselves with businesses in the US and UK.

However, with the demand slowing down, new markets across Continental Europe, Latin America and the Asia Pacific are poised to gain importance in the coming years. The study further said the smaller players are more excited about the US and UK while the bigger players prefer Eastern European countries.
