After launching the ?Visit India 2009? campaign to give a fillip to foreign tourist arrivals in the country, which have significantly dropped post-Mumbai attacks and due to the global economic crisis, the tourism ministry would now place the ?Incredible India? international campaigns in big-ticket events like the Oscar, Grammy and World Economic Forum.

?During the financial year 2009-2010, the ministry would be tactically and judiciously placing the ?Incredible India? spots during the Oscar, Grammy and Bafta award functions on E! Entertainment channel to catch the attention of the world population,? a tourism ministry official told FE.

The ?Incredible India? campaigns will also be aired on Euro Sports during the Winter Olympics to be held in Vancouver this year.

Apart from this, Incredible India spots will also be placed on major pan European Channels during the world events.

On CNN, the Incredible India branding will primarily revolve around the Talk Asia Programme, which has featured Indian luminaries like Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani and Oscar winner AR Rahman among others.

According to the official, the ministry is also planning to release ?Incredible India? advertisement in the print media to coincide with World Economic Forum in Davos and G-20 Summit.

The ministry has proposed to do lot of branding in Conde Nast Traveller on the occasion of World Travel Mart by supporting a special integrated supplement of the publication.

According to the latest statistics released by the ministry, foreign tourist arrivals dropped by 9.3% between January to June this year compared to the same period last year.

However, there was a slight recovery during the months of June and July where foreign tourist arrivals were up 0.2% and 0.6%, respectively.
