Punjab plans hike in passenger bus fare

Moga: The Punjab government is considering to hike passenger bus fare both for State Roadways and Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PEPSU). A two-member committee had already been constituted comprising deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and local bodies minister Manoranjan Kalia, which expected to submit its report by the second week of November, transport minister Master Mohan Lal said on Wednesday.

84.7 lakh MT paddy procured in Punjab

Chandigarh: Government agencies and private millers have procured more than 84.7 lakh mt of Paddy in Punjab. Out of total procurement of 84,70,591 mt of paddy in all the procurement centres of Punjab, government agencies procured 82,88,036 mt of paddy till date whereas private traders procured 1,82,555 mt of paddy. Pungrain had procured 23,62,535 mt whereas Markfed procured 17,06,958 mt Punsup procured 19,49,469 mt , PSWC procured 10,49,053 mt whereas PAIC was able to procure 8,10,207 mt of paddy.

Expressway plan near Dehra

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to construct an eight-lane restricted entry expressway near Dehra on the right bank of the upper Ganga canal at the UP-Uttarkhand border. The new express-way will be constructed to facilitate traffic movement and to expedite industrial development in the state. The land required for the construction of the express-way is already available in the upper Ganga canal, industrial development department officials said.
