The topic for the discussion will be Challenges to Treasury Managers in 2002.
The event has been organised for the Treasury heads and will feature lectures by - Mr Omkar Goswami, Chief Economist, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Mr DD Rathi, CFO, Grasim and Ms Naina Lal Kidwai, JM Morgan Stanley among others.
The objective of the event is to help develop a perspective on the coming year in general and also understand the challenges facing treasury heads/ CFOs, particularly with regards to the investment environment and available options. As it is an independent forum, other mutual funds can also participate.
UBI inks pact with CDSL for DP
Union Bank of India (UBI) has recently signed an agreement with Central Depository Services (India) Ltd (CDSL) for becoming a depository participant.
The agreement was signed by R Venkatramani, General Manager, New Initiatives Department (UBI), and Mr VV Raut, Executive Director (CDSL), at a function held at UBIs Corporate Office in Mumbai.
UBI will now offer facilities to open demat accounts, and to hold and transact securities exclusively through CDSL besides converting its own portfolio to demat form. Initially, UBI proposes to commence depository services from its Mumbai Samachar Marg Branch and then progressively expand its coverage by offering DP services from other branches all over the country. UBI has a widespread network of 2023 branches across the country.
