In a bid to expand its global footprint, premier business school the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, has joined hands with Columbia Business School, a leading US institution for graduate-level business studies. The tie-up will initially focus on student exchange programmes. With this alliance, IIM-As partnership with global b-schools, including 9 top schools in North America alone, has gone up to 45.

Columbia Business School and IIM-A will design and host an international study programme for both institutions. This partnership will go beyond the academic experience by providing a practical, first-hand knowledge of global business through executive presentations and field visits to top businesses both in India and the US.

The partnership between Columbia Business School and IIMAhmedabad reflects our mutual interest in entrepreneurship, a shared world view and a joint quest for innovation in a rapidly changing world, said R Glenn Hubbard, dean and Russell L Carson, professor of finance and economics at Columbia Business School.

The two institutions anticipate that the partnership will also include sharing corporate case studies and the possibility of collaboration on new case development through faculty exchanges and fresh research.

The proposed exchange of students, faculty, and ideas will re-enforce our allied interests and provide a broader understanding of the global nature of business for students from both institutions, said Bakul Dholakia, director of IIM-A.
