ICSI Finalises Awards For Corporate Governance

A high profile jury headed by former chief justice of India MN Venkatachaliah and comprising among others power secretary RV Shahi, department of company affairs secretary Vinod K Dhall, Securities & Exchange Board of India chairman GN Bajpai and Infosys CEO Nandan Nilekani on Saturday finalised the winners of the Institute of Companies Secretaries of Indias (ICSI) awards for excellence in corporate governance practices.

The awards will be presented by the vice-president Bhairon Singh Shekhawat on Dec 31.

Other prominent members of the jury include former cabinet secretary and Indias ambassador to the US Naresh Chandra, Hero Honda Motors chairman and managing director (CMD) Brij Mohan Lal, Punjab National Bank CMD SS Kohli and National Stock Exchanges CEO Ravi Narain.

The jury finalised awards to be presented to two public listed companies in the private sector and one public listed company in the public sector.

A life time achievement award will be conferred on an eminent personality for translating corporate governance into reality.
