ICICI Infotech Eyes Retail Chains At Home

After making a mark in the Middle East markets for its retail solution product, ICICI Infotech Ltd is now eyeing big retail chains in India especially the garments, food, departmental chains and large bakeries with the launch of its Orion at Retail.

The company, which roped in 20 major retail customers in the Middle East and Dubai markets, is looking at prominent Indian retail chains such as Shoppers Stop, Lifestyle, FoodWorld among others.

There are nearly 100 such major retail chains in India and the company is holding talks with most of them to offer the solution, said ICICI Infotechs deputy general manager S Srimane.

The company has redesigned the product in such a way that it incorporates the legalities of Indian Tax laws and issues, excise compliance and other tax related issues to suit the Indian retail chains, he said.

The Orion at Retail product is being tested with few customers and the company is confident of mustering few customers in the near future, he added.

The product encompasses complete retail solutions including covering supply chain management (SCM), customer relationship management (CRM), warehouse handling, and point-of-sale techniques. It operates at high-speed with much efficacy to enable the users to be able to act immediately.

The product also offers the entire Management Information System (MIS) to enable the owners to take stock of the situation including inventory position, sales and services and van delivery systems.

Orion at Retail is the most comprehensive offering with complete solutions including enterprise system, SCM, CRM and point-of-sale, he said.

The major Middle East and Dubai customers include retail major Aj Ali of Dubai, Ajmal Perfumes, Jackyis Electronics, Healthlines, Al Mahroos Departmental chain, he added.
