"Through SabseBolo.com, we are targeting small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs. But anyone can use this facility. It is absolutely free," SabseBolo.com Co-Founder Sabeer Bhatia told reporters in Mumbai.
People would have to go to the website and register themselves. Once they have done the registration they would be given a conference ID and PIN, which could be circulated to begin conferencing, Bhatia said.
Revenue for this business would be generated through advertisements. "Before the conference begins there would be a five-second advertisement. We have not decided the tariff as yet. It could be as low as Re 1 per 5 second of advertisement," he said.
"If there are 40,000 people using the conference facility a day, then I can make Rs 40,000 in a day too," he said.
The idea to set up a free conferencing facility came to Bhatia when he had to make a conference call between his offices in Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi.
"The existing facilities are too costly. With Sabsebolo.com, conferencing is free now," he added.
