Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who is looking forward to the release of 'Dhoom 3', said he was not playing a typical baddie in the latest edition of the popular Dhoom series.

"When I heard the script I loved it... it touched me. The villains in Dhoom series are different... they are not the regular villains. I am not playing a black kind of a villain who does only bad work... He has his own circumstances and situations to do things. I am not playing a quintessential villain," Aamir Khan said.

He was speaking at the trailer launch of 'Dhoom 3' in IMAX format.

"I am playing a gymnast, so I need to have a certain physique. I did a lot of hard work for it...I have worked hard on my body for two years," the actor said.

Aamir Khan is playing 'the clown' thief in the third installment of Dhoom series and is paired against Katrina Kaif for first time.

For Aamir Khan, often dubbed as perfectionist, Pran was the iconic villain as his appearance on screen would frighten him as a child.

Besides, Pran, Aamir also likes Amrish Puri, Prem Chopra, Madan Puri and Amjad Khan as baddies.

'Dhoom' series is famous for its suave villains. The earlier two films saw John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan playing the antagonists.

In 'Dhoom 3', Aamir Khan is playing the role of Sahir, the 'clown' thief and Katrina Kaif plays the role of Aaliya, an acrobat diva.

"In 25 years of my career, this is the toughest role ever. There were challenges in terms of performance. The stunts were amazing..Luckily I haven't broken any bone. The stunts were difficult but they were safe," Aamir Khan said.

Before the trailer was shown, Aamir Khan said he was feeling a bit nervous and eager to gauge reaction.

After the success of 'Dhoom' (2004), 'Dhoom 2' (2006) all eyes are set on the latest franchise from the Dhoom factory. The 'Dhoom' series is characterised by sequences of daring bike chase, cupid thieves and their dare devilry.

Aamir Khan said he had seen 'Dhoom' starring Abhishek Bachchan and he loved the film though he did not see Hrithik Roshan starrer 'Dhoom 2'. "The story of 'Dhoom 3' has emotions but at the same time thrill also," he said.

In the latest edition, Abhishek and Uday Chopra will reprise their roles of super cop Jai Dixit and his sidekick Ali, an outstanding biker, respectively.

"I was looking forward to work with Abhishek and Uday. Abhishek is good and straight in the film but in reality he is not like that. While Uday in the film is 'tedha' but he is good in real life," Aamir Khan said.

The film is touted as one of the biggest releases of the 2013. "We hope we will create Dhoom...hope people enjoy the film. I am not looking for record. I want audience to like what we have made. They should get entertained and satisfied after watching the film," said Aamir Khan.

Buzz is that producer Aditya Chopra and Aamir Khan are looking for a unique marketing strategy where all promotional initiatives, ranging from theatrical launch to music launch, will be done in a never-seen- before style.

"There is no particular strategy for it (film). I hope I have creative differences with producers in every film in good way. YRF is a great production house. They know the business well and are good in marketing," Aamir said.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra, 'Dhoom 3' will release on December 20. It will be the first Bollywood movie to be released in the IMAX format and in Dolby Atmos.

Uday and Katrina were not present at the event. Though Aamir Khan revealed that Uday is in Los Angeles, he was not forthcoming on Katrina Kaif's location, apparently against the backdrop of photos of the actress and her beau Ranbir Kapoor holidaying together in Spain emerging all over.
