HPCL Q1 net loss at Rs 608 cr; IBP net dips

State-run Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) on Wednesday posted a net loss of Rs 607.67 crore for the quarter ended June 30, as compared to net loss of Rs 507.89 crore for the same quarter in 2005-06. However, the total income (net of excise) increased 37.19% to Rs 20,776.19 crore for the quarter ended June 30, from Rs 15,143.71 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago.

IBP net dips

IBP Company Ltd has posted a net loss of Rs 458.7 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to net loss of Rs 233.97 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total income has increased from Rs 3,721.81 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 4,427.32 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

Tata Chemicals net at Rs 75 cr

Tata Chemicals Ltd has posted a profit after tax of Rs 75.35 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 64.94 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 520.62 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 762.84 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

Sun Pharma net up

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd has posted a profit after tax of Rs 148.02 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 123.51 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total income has increased from Rs 446.18 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 565.96 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

GSK net up

GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 91.06 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 103.46 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total income has decreased from Rs 478.46 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 425.65 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

Colgate Palmolive net up

Colgate Palmolive India Ltd has posted a profit after tax of Rs 36.06 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 27.98 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total income has increased from Rs 272.26 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 324.35 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

Blue Star net up

Blue Star Ltd has posted a 45% increase in net profit at Rs 7.30 crore recorded for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, as compared to Rs 5.05 crore reported during the previous corresponding period. The company has also posted 36% increase in total income at Rs 312.81 crore garnered in the quarter ended June 30, 2006, as compared to Rs 230.12 crore reported during the previous corresponding period.

Alfa Laval net dips

Alfa Laval has reported a four percent dip in its net profit of Rs 18.7 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to the net profit of Rs 19.6 crore in the corresponding period last year. The sales turnover for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 at Rs 141.7 crore was lower by three percent.

BOC net doubles

Post-tax profit of industrial gases major BOC India Ltd has doubled to Rs 28.5 crore in the first quarter of the 2006-07 as compared to the corresponding period previous year figure of Rs 11.3 crore. Net sales of the company stood at Rs 109.09 crore in the current first quarter, registering 6% rise over the same period previous fiscal.

Wyeth income dips

Wyeth Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 25.23 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 27.38 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total income (net of excise) has decreased from Rs 90.98 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 78.96 crore for quarter ended June 30, 2006.

Essel Propack Q2 net dips

Packaging major, Essel Propack Ltd on Wednesday posted a decline of 1.02% in net profit at Rs 9.70 crore for the quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 9.80 crore for the same quarter in 2005-06. The total income increased 13.10% to Rs 67.30 crore for quarter ended June 30, from Rs 59.50 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago.

BoI net up 21.5%

Core business activity has led the state-run lender Bank of India to register a net profit of Rs 209 crore for the first quarter ended on June 30, 2006 -a growth of 21.5% as compared to the comparable period last year.
