Great Lakes also has a tie-up with the Bauer School of Business at the University of Houston to offer its globally top-ranked Executive Energy Management programme in India called GEMBA.
My vision is to make the country energy independent and state governments have been supportive. We have already got land from the Orissa government, said Bala V Balachandran, founder and dean, Great Lakes IEMR.
The campus in Mumbai will offer courses in banking, financial services, insurance and family business. The institute is also looking to expand globally and has set its sights on the Asian countries of China, Japan and Korea, besides Latin American nations.
Though there would be no increase in the student strength of the institute, Balachandran said that the fee would be increased by 10%. Looking at the economic conditions, we dont want to increase the student intake, he added.
The class of 2012 of the Great Lakes IEMR had an average compensation of over R8 lakh and saw participation from consulting and energy related companies such as Deloitte Consulting, Wipro EcoEnergy, Mercados, ICRA Consulting, PTC, Moser Baer, Fedders Lloyd, Infraline, Emerson, Capital Fortunes and NCC Limited, among others.
