Nervousness over the tension between India and Pakistan kept gold prices ruling around six-year peak on the bullion market on Saturday, as stockists and retailers sought the yellow metal as a safe haven. Rising global prices also helped the trend firm up. Gold inched up to an over six-year high of Rs 5,320 per ten grams from Friday’s closing levels of Rs 5,315. The yellow metal had recorded an all-time high of Rs 5,713 per ten grams on February 1996.
In the international market, gold closed at $320.95 an ounce in London on Friday, higher from its previous finish of $317.15.
