Future Group plans to launch T24 service in 20 circles by March

Future group is planning to launch the T24 mobile service in 20 circles by March this year (in joint venture with Tata Teleservices), Kishore Biyani led Future group aims to clog a revenue of around Rs 200-400 crore from this venture by the end of FY 2011-12.

Future group registered a turnover of Rs 10,000 crore last fiscal. After launching the T24 services in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Orissa and Uttar Pradesh, Future Group and TTSL, launched the services in Punjab and Haryana recently.

The companies had announced the joint venture and unveiled brand T24 after signing a strategic alliance in February 2010 with Andhra Pradesh as the first telecom circle to go live with the services in June 2010.

Talking to FE, Mayur Toshniwal, chief executive officer, T24 said, We are going to launch the services in Rajasthan next week. Other circles to go live in the next three-four weeks include Mumbai, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh etc.

Till date we have about six lakh subscribers in the operational circles and we expect a subscriber base of a few lakhs from the Punjab and Haryana circle in a years time. T24 has received good response since its launch in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Orissa and Uttar Pradesh.

Shopping and talking on our mobile phones are among the two favorite activities for all of us in India. T24 combines these interests of the aspirational Indian customers.

Our customers will get shopping benefits on talking and talk-time benefits every time they shop at our stores. He added, We are present in six cities in Haryana and Punjab at present but we are scaling up our presence in north by opening more stores in Baddi in Himachal; Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar and Mohali in Punjab and Rohtak and Yamunanagar in Haryana over the next one year.

T24 tariff plans will reflect the competitive per-second rates being offered for pre-paid customers on the TTSL network. In addition, customers will be rewarded with free talk-time for every purchase above Rs 351 made at any of the Future Group shopping outlets.

A T24 customer buying products worth Rs 3,001 at Pantaloons or Brand Factory will stand to gain Rs 150 worth of free talk-time. Also, a customer spending Rs 2,001 in Big Bazaar will gain Rs 84 worth of free talk-time for every purchase. T24 mobile telephony service will be rolled out across the country through Future Groups retail networks in over 76 cities and 65 rural destinations. Future Group retail chains attracted over 250 million customer footfalls in 2009-10.
