India and Japan will be holding the first-of-its-kind, large-scale maritime exercise next month along with the US Navy. Indian naval officers announced on Thursday.

Though the three-way military exercise is being eyed with concern by China, rear admiral Pardeep Chauhan, assistant chief of Naval staff stressed, We are not engaging in these deployments to pass messages to any country nor will it be a regular exercise. The naval drill scheduled from April 6 to April 11, near the US naval base at Yokosuka, Japan, will have a powerful flotilla of naval warships.
