Finally, Pune Gets Its International Convention Centre

Pune will finally have its own international convention centre. The Mahratshtra Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) has been pushing for the project for the last 16 years and finally got clearance from the state government and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for the centre.

The proposed centre will be set up by MCCIA on 14 acres of prime real estate at Senapati Bapat Road. The chamber will be inviting top consultants for presentation of proposals for funding the venture.

The plan is to have a convention centre, indoor industrial exhibition and display halls, trade towers, conference facilities, auditoriums, and business information centre. Also, on the cards are a five star hotel in the same complex.

In addition, MCCIA will be having an administrative building in the complex and will also be giving the municipal corporation 80,000 sq ft of constructed area free of cost.
