FIIs net buyers in equities at Rs 1,695.7 cr, MFs net sellers

The foreign institutional investors (FIIs) recorded net purchases of Rs 1,695.7 crore ($370.5 million) in equities for the week ended November 26 while mutual funds (MFs) were net sellers at Rs 237.6 crore.

The foreign funds were net sellers at Rs 250.6 crore ($54.70 million) in the debt market for the period under review, according to the data available with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) here.

The mutual funds were net purchasers in the debt market at Rs 321.65 crore.

Overseas funds were net buyers in equities on all four trading days of the week.

The foreign funds recorded their highest net inflow of the trading week in equities at Rs 562.90 crore ($123 mn) on November 24 followed by Rs 517.30 crore ($113 mn) on November 22.

FIIs registered the highest net outflow of Rs 146.70 crore ($32 mn) on November 24.

MFs were net sellers in equity market on all trading days and sold shares to the tune of Rs 200.5 crore and Rs 36.60 crore on November 22 and 24 respectively.

On debt front, MFs were net purchasers at Rs 121.24 crore on November 24.

The Stock Exchange, Mumbai, (BSE) during the week under review saw the Sensex gaining 73.32 points to close at 6035.03 over the last weeks close.
