Formula One is fast emerging out of dominant European countries and moving into developing countries like India. International Automobile Federation (FIA) president Jean Todt said he supported the shift.

India is a strong emerging country and I admire the investments made by Jaypee for building the infrastructure and the resilience shown by the people, said Todt. He also said both the Indian drivers are very talented. You have to realise that there are only 24 of the best drivers here. While there are no Chinese drivers, you should be proud that there are two Indians on the grid, he said.

A delighted Vijay Mallya, team principal of F1 team Force India, said, Sahara Force India will go down in the history for scoring points in the inaugural Indian GP.

Mercedes GP team principal Norbert Haug said, India should be proud of Jaypee for a great track. They should now concentrate on developing the go-karting sector to cultivate more heroes.
