Mr Parekh, 42, has been heading E&Y Indias risk and business solutions practice and, as part of the relocation, will now be moving to New York to be part of the global BRS practice, E&Y sources have confirmed. However, Mr Parekh was not available for comments.
Mr Parekh has had a long stint of around two decades with the erstwhile Arthur Andersen, where he started his career in the consulting business. He was heading the strategic business unit (SBU) of assurance at Arthur Andersen.
The relocation, said sources, would help Mr Parekh in furthering his career interests at a global level. Global relocations of partners at E&Y are done with the aim of encouraging seamless integration between the global and Indian operations.
In 2002, a significant number of Arthur Andersens partners and employees joined E&Y India, and Mr Bobby Parikh was made the CEO. Mr Parikh, along with 27 partners from Arthur Andersen and 750 employees, were inducted into E&Y India as part of the integration. Citing personal reasons, Mr Parikh quit the organisation on November 4 to pursue other options.
