The IT-BPO industry added another 9% employees in FY12 as per software body Nasscom, while EXL Service has been adding employees at the rate of 25-30% in the last two years.
The companys growth will be driven by opportunities in the end-to-end transformational business and increased penetration into newer geographies like the European region.
Rohit Kapoor, CEO and president, EXL Service, said, We expect to close the calender year 2011 with revenues of $358 million, which would imply a 40% growth rate, higher than the previous rate at which EXL Service has been growing. The company plans to accelerate its employee strength in India and other emerging geographies. We plan to hire 4,000 employees for our India delivery centres and another 1,000 for the facility in the Philippines this year.
Last year, EXL service hired 3,500 employees in India and 500-700 in the Philippines.
Last month the company added a facility in Manila to support its growth in the Philippines. EXLs site in the Philippines employs more than 1,500 professionals.
The US still gives EXL Service 70% of its revenues, followed by UK (25%) and Europe (5%). But according to Kapoor, continental Europe will open up soon with language related back office work. And we are focused on both Europe and UK, he added.
We have $80 million cash and I am still looking at acquisitions this year. The space that we are keen to acquire would be in insurance or the banking and financial vertical. It could also be a BPO platform in this space, he said.
