The Jharkhand council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) which is organising Enterprise Jharkhand 2010 to be held here between February 2 & 7, is laying special focus on opportunities for enterprises in the state in the defence sector, apart from other sectors like railways and export.

The biannual fair showcases the potential of Jharkhand units in contributing towards the various sectors of the economy and endeavours to maximize opportunities for them through product displays and advertising, industry-related information, focused business presentations and discussions, networking between industry and suppliers, interaction between users and manufacturers.

According to CII Jharkhand council president Pradeep Srivastava, senior officials from the defence sector as well as from the railways will be present at the fair to brief entrepreneurs in the state about the requirements that could be met by them.

As the central government is investing in a big way in the defence sector, we have invited senior officials from the sector to come down here and discuss what all could be supplied by the small and medium units in Jharkhand, said Srivastava, adding that world class SMEs in the state were looking forward to hearing from officials the items the sector could be needing from them.

Seminars for interaction with officials from defence and railways has thus been organised for February 3 at the fair venue.
