We should see the bus rapid transport (BRT) system as a curative measure (?Bus karo?, Apr 24) and accept changing urban realities. A well-managed travel system like BRT can reduce the level of pollution and dependency on privately-owned petrol vehicles. The media should cooperate in making such a project successful by highlighting its long-term benefits, instead of giving such enormous space to the teething troubles of the project.

The Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) is once again mired in controversy after the selection-for-payment scandal. It is really painful to see the national game in such dire straits. Bribery incidents like this in the IHF are quite impossible without any knowledge of its head, who should be forced to quit now. The scandal is a wake-up call for the government to overhaul the IHF.
