LG Electronics has launched its BD670 Blu-ray 3D player, which combines the best in 3D entertainment and seamless connectivity with other digital devices. A slim profile and rounded corners give the Blu-ray player a sleeker, more modern look. Talking about the features, the BD670 flaunts an easy-to-use onscreen interface, which offers direct and simple access to a wide range of premium content as well as top-tier global content providersincluding Picasa, Accu weather, YouTube, I-play TV, Google Maps and V-tuner.

The BD670s Smart TV functions also mean viewers can take advantage of the growing selection of LG apps. LGs new internet streaming service Smart TV lets users gain access to a multitude of apps and media content with a simple user interface. On the front, a USB port makes connecting the player to the USB more accessible. Located at the back of the box are HDMI output, stereo analog output, an Ethernet LAN port, composite and component video outputs and an optical digital analog output. In terms of connectivity, the BD670s Wi-Fi Direct lets viewers stream multimedia content directly to other devices sans any separate internet connection. Moreover, users can download the special apps on their Android based mobile phones that turn the handset into a remote control for the BD670.

The LG BD670s no-frills approach ironically is what stands out. Instead of adding features of dubious worth (2D-to-3D conversion, cross-platform search that doesnt work), the BD670 relies on a simple formula for success: built-in Wi-Fi, lots of high-quality streaming-media servicesincluding standouts like Amazon Instant, MLB.TV, MOG, and Napsterand a clean, simple user interface.

The BD670 doesnt have any design flourishes, looking simply like a thin, glossy black box. Theres a standard disc tray slot and there are also physical buttons, rather than touch-sensitive buttons, which is a plus in our book. For viewers with a library of both standard and Blu-ray titles, LGs players also use 1080p up-scaling of standard DVDs for a near high-definition viewing experience.

All in all, built in Wi-Fi, simple user interface and high quality of media streaming make LG BD670 one of the most popular choices this year.
